Mr Berne’s Friday message

1st May 2020

Good afternoon parents, guardians & pupils of Edmund Rice College.

I hope this message finds everyone safe & well.

Another busy week of home schooling is over and it's time to close Google Classroom for a well earned weekend break.

We have been absolutely delighted with the response to our brand new Key Stage 3 projects this week.

On Monday, we released ten new projects for the next five weeks. Pupils can complete two projects per week & this week the focus was on English & Religious Studies.

The work produced by our pupils was outstanding. We are very proud of you for the effort you have put in this week & you should feel a great sense of achievement.

Whilst we are promoting two different projects each week, it is entirely up to the pupils as to which projects they should complete first.

I would also like to reiterate that pupils should do what they can. We understand that you may not be able to complete all ten projects but just do your best. That's all we ever ask!

On Monday we will be promoting a further two projects on our social media platforms. Look out for that on Monday morning!

When your projects are completed, please send to info@edmundricecollege.co.uk with your name, class and name of your teacher.

We want to see & celebrate your great work. Our teachers will be delighted to provide you with some feedback for all your hard work.

Our daily quizzes and T&D Challenges continue to be as popular as ever.

KS4 and KS5 work will continue to be updated regularly on Google Classroom for our older pupils.

We would also like to encourage you to continue reading at home in your spare time.

Libraries NI are offering free downloads of books to any device if you are a member of a library. If not, you can sign up:

It is extremely important during this challenging time to look after yourselves. As part of Wellbeing Wednesday next week, we have a special treat for all our staff, pupils, parents & guardians.

Sean McCafferty, a former pupil of Edmund Rice College & owner of SR Fitness, will be delivering an enjoyable workout session on our Facebook page at 10am on Wednesday morning, dedicated especially to our school community.

It will last around 30 minutes and should be great fun for all the family.

Have a great weekend.

Take care & look after yourselves and each other.

Mr Berne.
