Key Stage 4
The Careers Department offer a number of skills and services to all Key Stage 4 pupils. The programme on offer includes;
Year 11 Job Sampling
Year 11 students are offered the opportunity to sample areas of work in joinery, brickwork, painting & decorating in the East Antrim Institute of Further Education. They attend the College one morning a week, and have the opportunity to obtain NVQ units in each area of work. These have proved useful to the pupils as they have the opportunity to express themselves outside of the school environment.
Interview Skills and the World of Work
Each year the Careers Department organises an “Interview Skills and World of Work Day”. This is a one day course, and is normally delivered to Year 13 students. Many companies and universities take part, and students receive feedback on application forms and interview techniques.
Work Experience
Work Experience is compulsory for Year 12 and GNVQ students
